What is Well on Wheels®?
Well on Wheels® is Connecticut's premier Vegan Personal Chef service which provides gourmet vegan meals that are made from scratch, preservative-free, and are customized and prepared for you in your own home. My goal is to bring you good food that is good for you. I specialize in vegan cuisine because I believe it is ethically and nutritionally the healthiest diet to eat. I do not use any animal products in the food I prepare. This means no eggs, milk, butter, cheese, honey, fish, chicken stock or meat of any kind. If you are lactose-intolerant or allergic to eggs or dairy products, my meals will be perfectly safe for you to eat. I can also modify meals for other conditions such as gluten-free, low-fat, low-sodium, and diabetic.
Do you have a favorite family recipe or nonvegan meal you’d like to make healthy? No Problem! I can adjust the recipe so that it eliminates all animal products yet still tastes delicious.
I do not use any highly refined or chemically treated flours or sugars. Instead, I choose natural sweeteners such as brown rice syrup, maple syrup, evaporated cane juice, agave syrup or stevia and whole grains which are as close to their natural state as possible. I only use unsaturated oils such as canola and olive oil, which both contain the beneficial Omega-3 oil. I do not use hydrogenated oil or margarine which contain dangerous trans fatty acids. When shopping for fruits and vegetables, I choose organic whenever it is available. I do not use genetically modified or irradiated products. The meals I prepare for you will help guide you on your journey to a healthier life.
